Darling Harbour: A Taste of Magic in Sydney, Australia

Sydney, Australia is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world with its breathtaking harbour situated right under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and next to the Sydney Opera House. I am proud to call this city my home whilst many tourists’ breaths are taken away with such spectacular vibes and views.

There’s a little (not so little) place in Sydney’s city called Darling Harbour, just a short and spectacular 20 minute walk from Circular Quay.

Day time activities in Darling Harbour, Sydney

Darling Harbour is packed with activities to do during the day with the family, friends or your special other. Home to Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Madame Tussauds, Wildlife Sydney Zoo and even the IMAX theatre, making for a perfect family day out. Click here for prices and more details!!

Sydney Aquarium is a MUST if you are in Sydney, it is my favourite place and I would and will find any excuse to go. The vibrant colours of all the fish and sea life is incredible to watch up close, I would totally recommend it be on the top of your things to do whilst you are in Darling Harbour.

Darling Harbour is the perfect place to spend a Sunday with parks, picnic tables and always street performances to keep entertained (yes, they are daily and always interesting to watch… always).

The Chinese Garden of Friendship is a little taste of Asia in the heart of Sydney. Taking a walk through the garden it will be sure to make you feel as if you are in China, and what a place to be on a Sunday. Entry is cheap and photographs are permitted, check out the prices here.

Darling Harbour by Night

Not only is Darling Harbour an amazing place to spend the day, but it is also alive at night. With all different types of restaurants surrounding the harbour and looking out to the city lights, it is the ultimate place to spend a night out.  With a taste for everyone, from Chinese food to Italian I assure you it won’t disappoint.

Not only does Darling Harbour have an array of food choices, it also holds a heap of pubs and nightclubs, supplying all different types of music from live to R&B. Check them out here!

Walking around Darling Harbour at night is magical in itself. With city lights, fairy lights in all the trees and nightlife street performances, you are sure to be satisfied all year around no matter what time of year you visit.

Staying in Darling Harbour

Booking for an incredible experience in Sydney? Darling Harbour has a number of hotels to choose from, with views to die for looking out to the Harbour and the city.

Novotel was my first hotel experience in Darling Harbour. As I live in Sydney, I stayed here for the weekend, and falling asleep to the light of Sydney was something I wouldn’t pass up on. Having these views from your hotel window is a little more up-price than rooms with no view, but if you can pull out some extra cash, it is sure worth it.
